Working with AmeriPride Tax Group

The first thing most of our clients want to know is what to expect when working with AmeriPride Tax Group. They want to know, step-by-step, what will happen with their case and what AmeriPride Tax Group will do to help them with their sales tax, payroll tax, or State or IRS tax issues.

It's important to note that AmeriPride Tax Group professionals review each case carefully before deciding on a course of action. Our team of tax professionals, including CPAs, EAs and attorneys, go through each new case to determine the best course of action. The review process includes an examination of the documentation, an intake interview, and an evaluation of your overall situation and any ares of special consideration for your case.

Once the review is complete, AmeriPride Tax Group's professional tax team creates an action plan for working with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or State Tax Authority. This personalized strategy will serve as the road-map for AmeriPride Tax Group professionals and give you an indication of what to expect.

It is important to note that each case is unique, which means no two strategies or outcomes will be the same. However the following will give you an idea of what to expect when you work with AmeriPride Tax Group:

  1. When you begin the process you will speak to a member of our client relations team. They will advise you as to which documents to submit for review by our tax professionals.
  2. We do not want you to be burdened with your tax debt any longer than necessary. To that end, we will need to file your Power of Attorney with the IRS or state tax agency. This document gives us the authority to represent you so that we can negotiate on your behalf when and if necessary. Despite this document, the IRS may continue to contact you. Agents from the tax offices may even indicate that they have not heard of our company. Unfortunately, the collection tactics used by these agencies can be heavy-handed and, at times, field agents are not aware of everything that occurs in the offices. If you are contacted by the IRS or a state tax agency, simply advise them that you signed a contract authorizing AmeriPride Tax Group to represent you and ask them to call our offices.
  3. When we receive your documentation our team of CPAs, EAs and attorneys will review it. If there is a critical situation at hand (i.e., a wage garnishment or levy), you will be contacted within 24 hours or less. Non-urgent cases will receive a call within two business days.
  4. During our follow up call a member of our team will ask any additional questions and advise you as to the plan of action.
  5. At that point we will also contact the IRS to request that they stop collections, order transcripts pertaining to your case and advise them of the plan of action for your case.
  6. If you are in the midst of a critical situation (i.e., active wage garnishment or levy), AmeriPride Tax Group will take steps immediately to remedy the issue at hand.
  7. Once the immediate issue is resolved, or in cases without a critical situation, AmeriPride Tax Group's professional team will review returns for prior years. AmeriPride Tax Group will share information about our action plan with you. We want you to understand our strategy and feel confident that we are working for you. If you have questions at any point during this process, we will try to explain the why certain steps are needed for your specific case.
  8. You may receive requests for additional information during this process. It is essential that you return those documents to our offices as soon as possible. Remember, at this stage, time is of the essence. If you are unable to locate an item, you will need to bring that fact to our attention. Certain steps cannot be taken with your case until we have all the necessary paperwork.
  9. When everything is compiled and prepared we will go through your documentation and offer with you. At that point you will be asked to verify that all of the facts are correct and sign necessary documents. With your signature you are attesting to the accuracy of the facts of your tax case. From there everything is submitted to the proper tax authority.
  10. Throughout the process a representative from AmeriPride Tax Group will stay in contact with you and will stay on top of your case with the IRS or state tax agency. During this time it is important to keep current records as you may be required to provide additional documentation. If at any point you begin to feel anxious about the status of your case, we are just a phone call away.
  11. When we receive a response from the IRS we will go over the terms with you and advise you of the steps you need to take to honor the terms set forth by the IRS.
